UCAT Update- June 2020

Yesterday, UCAT released an additional statement to inform medical school applicants concerning how the UCAT may change in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

We now understand that tests and registrations will be open from 1 July 2020 and you will be able to take the test at home or a test centre.

They also added that the test has not changed in content.

So what does this mean for you (if you’re applying to medical school this year):

  • Time to pick up the books again- Understandably the motivation to study for UCAT has been next to nothing, especially considering the difficulties of studying during the lockdown. However, now with the test not so far away, it is essential you start preparing early to give yourself the best possible chance.

  • Book early- If you know that you will like to apply to medical school this year, we emphatically encourage you to ensure you book your test as soon as possible. Everyone wants a test space during this short space, so ensure you login to the UCAT Website on 1 July 2020 or ASAP!

  • Speak up- If these recent changes have a considerable effect on you- e.g. no access to a laptop or WiFI. Please Speak up! Find the courage to speak with family, your parents and of course TAMS to discover what options are available for yourself.

Over the coming weeks, more information will come out in TAMS Tips to support you in your revision.

You are not alone!
