Haringey, Islington & Camden Aspiring Medic's Day

On October 16th 2021, the outreach team was back in action as they ran another Aspiring Medic’s Day! Students from all three boroughs had the opportunity to join this morning event, as many topics of interest were covered, including admission tests, interviews, and getting the grades / applying to medical school.

Carrying on from our previous talk in Barking, we invited physicians and medical students to shed light on their day-to-day lives in their respective careers, their motivations to enter medicine, and advice to impart to aspiring medics.

The event was positively received, with a few examples of what the participants enjoyed about the day:

“I love learning about what the life or a medical student/ doctor looks like. It helped me confirm i want to become a surgeon”

“The fact that different types of people on types of women gave us their own experiences and advice in the field of Medicine and Dentistry.”

“I liked that we were able to ask our own questions”
